Climate

The climate of Rouen in July is generally comfortable. The temperature can be around 20-22 °C in the daytime and around 15-17 °C at night. It is usually sunny but occasionally rainy.

How to get to Rouen

By Plane :  Paris airports are all close by and make international capitals and major cities easily accessible at competitive prices. From the airport you can take a shuttle direct to Paris city-center.

Regular buses run from Charles de Gaulle Airport (terminal 3) to Rouen. The travel takes approx. 2h30. Time tables (see below) and booking services can be found here: https://www.flixbus.com/bus-routes/bus-rouen-paris

Regular trains run to Rouen from central Paris  (St-Lazare station). For more information visit the French National Railway Company (SNCF) website : http://www.sncf.com

Two other low-cost airports are close to Rouen. However they do not offering direct regular connections to Rouen. It is necessary to travel through Paris St-Lazare (shuttle) for Beauvais Airport and through Deauville city-center (shuttle) for Deauville airport  :

By car : The A13 motorway goes from Paris to Rouen and the journey takes just over an hour and half.
                The A28 links Rouen to the North of France and the Channel ports and the Eurotunnel.

By train : Rouen benefits from several connections of local and national trains. (Paris, Le Havre, Marseille, Lyon, Caen, Lille, etc…)

By boat : The main ferry lines linking the UK to Normandy leave from Newhaven and Portsmouth and go to  Caen, Le Havre or Dieppe. From the ports fast road links and coach lines to Rouen are easily available.

Currency

The local currency is the Euro (€). Foreign currency is not accepted at most stores in France. Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops. Small restaurants and shops may not accept credit cards. Major currencies, such as US dollar, can be exchanged at international airports and major banks.

Passports and Visa

Participants requiring a visa for entry to France are strongly advised to make their application in their home country at least three months before the intended date of travel. For information, please consult your nearest French Embassy or Consulate or your travel agent. Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality and duration of stay in France and possibly on the reason for your visit to France.

Those who need a letter of invitation, please contact both the ISCC-10 chairman and secretariat.

Insurance

ISCC-10 will not assume responsibility for medical expenses of attendees at ISCC-11. All attendees are urged to ensure that they are covered by their own travel and health insurance policies while traveling to and from and while attending ISCC-11. ISCC-11 is not responsible for private possessions lost or stolen at the symposium.
